Emergency Department receives privacy upgrade for historic 2014 G20 summit

Client: Department of Transport and Main Roads (Busways)
Scope: Install privacy screening for Emergency Department
Type: Planned Project

In the lead up to Brisbane hosting the 2014 G20 Summit, Diverse Worx was approached to undertake vital upgrades to the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital Emergency Department. The upgrades ensure the highest level of privacy be afforded to patients in the unlikely instance of G20 delegates requiring to attend the Hospital. The extensive project involved the installation of custom glazing and architectural privacy screening whilst respecting patient privacy and working in close proximity to one of Brisbane’s busiest Busway stations.

Meticulous planning was necessary to work within various site constraints including the hospitals’ 24/7 Emergency Department and the Busway Station being operational 7 days a week. Diverse Worx liaised with manufacturers, equipment and installation specialists and multiple high-level stakeholders to ensure the upgrade was completed not only to the clients’ specifications but within tight deadlines. Due to this concerted effort, Diverse Worx successfully delivered the completed project prior to the commencement of the G20 Summit.
